The Life and Times of a Diva…

About

Profile of a Diva!

Now funny things, these profiles!  This is supposed to be the part of the site where you can get a “feel” of who I am and what I’m about – quite honestly, I think the very nature of some of the things I blog about should be able to tell you that!! ;)

The even stranger thing is that whenever I’m faced with writing a profile about myself I get completely stumped because I just don’t know what to say without it sounding like somebody completely different!   You would think that, after all these years being self employed and managing various Sales and Marketing teams within many organisations in my life before freedom, that I would be a dab hand at it and even have something prepared that I just cut and paste each time – instead I use the tried and trusted “reinvent the wheel” strategy!!!  How many of you do the same thing??   Now don’t get me wrong there’s nothing wrong with the wheel – it truly was one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, invention ever but it has been done now and I really should just concentrate on the modifications rather than starting from scratch – yet another item added to my “To Do List”!

In one of my previous lives, it was amazing just how many things were so simple yet they completely passed me by until I had exhausted all their complexities.  Thankfully, I’ve got a 4 year old teenager who reminds me of this and keeps me on the straight and narrow – between her and her Dad, I tell you there is very little room for error these days!!  Of course, the fact that I’m an NLP Practitioner also helps as I can get to the heart of the matter really quickly and make some long term changes – revolutionary for many of my clients that are dealing with real issues that had previously paralysed them.  Now they are living lives that they had only previously dreamed of:

”Gayle has made me really take a long hard look at myself and finally after 14 years of really hating myself I have started to like me for me, not what other people want me to be but who I truly am.” KS, Real Deal Graduate

“If you are looking to make substantial changes in your life which don’t fizzle out a month later, there is only one person that I can recommend, Gayle Edwards.  Her workshops and one to one coaching sessions will make a difference.”    MM

I love when people say nice things about me – I suppose that’s what keeps me doing what I do.  Making a real difference in real people’s lives – that is my passion and so long as the human race is in existence and I’ve still got my health and strength, then I’ll still be here saying “Now come on, you know its madness – doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result!  You know its time to do it differently”.

Having said all of that though, you know how multi-dimensional us humans are?!  Another passion of mine - which is still related to all the change work that I do – is weight loss!  Now I’ve been a size 22 and a size 12 – which one did I prefer?  Being perfectly honest – neither!  I am at my happiest and most comfortable when I’m at peace with myself and all is well within Diva’s world!  However, I also know from first hand experience how emotional eating (aka comfort eating) can take on a life force all of its own when there’s stuff going on in your life that is only being dealt with by having an extra chocolate bar!   Most people find it easier to focus on the food rather than the emotions but it is nowhere near as effective in the long term and usually leads to yo-yo dieting!!

This is what led me to develop the pioneering “What’s Eating You? … Satisfying your Emotional Hunger Programme” (W.E.Y) which focusses on satisfying the emotional hunger and thus living a healthier and more balanced life without having to be on a continual diet! Ever noticed how naturally slim people just EAT without all the hang ups!!  Drop me an email at the usual address if you would like to know more details about W.E.Y and how it works – gayle(at)cdsuccess(dot)com.

There are a few other strings to my professional bow such as co-managing two Women’s Networking Meetings for 1230 The Women’s Company – Watford & Bushey and Harrow & Ruislip.  These are fab and just starting to take off now – women doing what we do best but with purpose!  Yep, shopping and talking – but all about our businesses! :)

In a nutshell, my professional life is all about helping people to embrace the changes they are going through and also motivating and inspiring them to step out of their own way and live the lives that THEY want.  We can truly blaze our own trail and reclaim the starring role in our lives and I’m more than honoured to be able to help facilitate that process!

Personally, I am just as blessed as I have a wonderful family, great friends, strong faith and an endless supply of Jamaican white rum!!! :)   I’m not kidding either it’s great for baking,  perfect in rum punch on an endless Summer’s day and, of course, clears the cobwebs from many a winter chest!! :) :)   Don’t tell anyone though because in public it’s all about the Pink Champagne!! :)

Something tells me you’ve more than likely got the gist of me now!! ;)

I should “know” you pretty well by now, having grown up with you. However, reading your profile made me smile deep down inside beacuse your gift, one of many, is that there is so much to get to know about you and the more you know, truly know, the more lovable and inspiring you are. Keep up the fantastic work and energy. Your “little sister” Dawn.

    Gayle,
After reading through, I had to put in my 2 pence worth.
It is nice to see that you have touched other lives as you have mine, your unwavering commitment to the success and well being of others has manifested itself in the many people who continue to draw on you for advice and encouragement. Personally you have been a strong support and your belief in our “venture” is highly appreciated. Keep on doing what you do!!!
